Our Fee Structure: Transparent and Client-Focused
In Queensland, the Legal Profession Act 2007 enforces the '50/50 Rule', which limits how much law firms can charge in personal injury cases. Under this rule, legal fees cannot exceed 50% of your net settlement.
At Honest Grace Legal, we go beyond the minimum requirements to further protect your financial recovery:
No Uplift Fees
Unlike some firms that charge an extra 25% uplift fee for 'No Win, No Fee' cases, we don’t believe in hidden costs. You’ll never pay an uplift fee with us.
Lower Fees for Serious Injuries
For serious injury cases, we limit our fees to 10% of your net settlement, ensuring you keep the majority of your compensation to support your recovery.
Here's How Our Fee Structure Works
To make things clear, here's a simple breakdown of how our fees work:
1. Gross Settlement Amount (E)
The total amount rewarded to you
2. Statutory Refunds (R)
Money you need to repay, e.g. Medicare or Centrelink refunds.
3. Disbursements (D)
Costs paid during your case, such as medical report fees and court expenses
Under the 50/50 Rule, the maximum legal fees are:
Maximum Legal Fees = (E - [R + D]) × 0.5
At Honest Grace Legal, for serious injury cases, we go further:
Our Legal Fees = (E - [R + D]) × 0.10
