Think staying quiet after an injury protects you?
It could actually ruin your entire WorkCover claim.
Here’s what I see all the time.
Someone gets hurt at work. No blood, nothing seems broken, so They think, “It’s fine. I’ll be okay. No need to make a big deal.”
So they say nothing.
No report.
No doctor.
Not even a slight mention to anyone at work.
Then months later - the pain gets worse.
They finally speak up…
And when they go to lodge the claim, WorkCover asks, “Where’s the record?”
Workcover checks in with their boss but they say “I don’t know, They never told me.”
And just like that - the claim is denied.
So here's our tip: Report your injury the day it happens - even if it feels small.
Whether it’s filling out a form, sending an email, or even just a text - make sure it’s recorded.
Silence might seem polite in the moment.
But legally? It could cost you everything.
And by then, it’s too late to turn back the clock.
